Gunmen in Nasarawa kidnap palace chief

Shabu community in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State is in turmoil following the abduction of their paramount ruler, Madakin Shabu, Musa Shuaibu. The incident occurred around 8 pm on Thursday when gunmen stormed the area and kidnapped Shuaibu a few meters from his residence after he had observed his Isha’i prayer.

A local source, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the abduction, stating, “The gunmen arrived in numbers and took him to an unknown destination. We hope for his safe return and call on the state government and security agencies to ensure his rescue.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident and assured that personnel had been deployed to secure Shuaibu’s release and apprehend the perpetrators.

“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the criminals and rescue the victim,” DSP Nansel stated.
