3 Dead, 40 injured after truck ploughs into crowd along Yobe road

Tragedy struck in Yobe State when a truck lost control and rammed into a group of people gathered by the roadside, leaving three dead and at least 40 others injured.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, reportedly speeding, veered off the road suddenly and crashed into the crowd, which included market traders and passersby. Panic ensued as victims were knocked down and others scrambled to escape the chaotic scene.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the site, providing first aid and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities confirmed that three people died instantly while others suffered varying degrees of injuries, some critical.

The driver of the truck was reportedly apprehended by law enforcement agents and is under investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that brake failure or reckless driving may have contributed to the accident.
