The Super Eagles took control of the game with goals from Paul Onuachu and a brace by Raphael Onyedika, sealing a dominant performance despite making several changes to the starting lineup. Uganda were reduced to 10 men after their goalkeeper was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area. The Cranes later grabbed a consolation goal but were unable to mount a comeback.

With the win, Nigeria finished top of Group C with a perfect record and advanced confidently to the round of 16, while Uganda exited the tournament at the group stage with just one point.
