Shettima arrives in Switzerland for 56th World Economic Forum

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Switzerland to represent Nigeria at the 56th edition of the World Economic Forum (WEF), a high-level global gathering of political leaders, business executives, and international organisations.

The annual forum, holding in Davos, is expected to focus on pressing global issues such as economic recovery, sustainable development, climate action, digital transformation, and geopolitical stability.

According to officials, Vice President Shettima will participate in several strategic sessions and bilateral meetings aimed at promoting Nigeria’s economic reforms and attracting foreign direct investment. He is also expected to engage with global investors, development partners, and leaders of multinational corporations on opportunities in key sectors of the Nigerian economy, including energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and technology.

Nigeria’s participation at the forum, government sources said, is part of ongoing efforts to reposition the country as an attractive investment destination and to strengthen economic partnerships amid global economic uncertainty.

The vice president is also scheduled to highlight the administration’s economic policies, reforms, and commitment to private-sector-led growth, as well as Nigeria’s role in regional stability and global cooperation.

The World Economic Forum brings together thousands of participants from around the world each year, providing a platform for dialogue on shaping global, regional, and industry agendas.
