Troops arrest female suspect accused of supplying drugs to terrorists in North-East
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a woman suspected of supplying illicit drugs to terrorist groups operating in the North-East, as part of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the region.
Military sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation conducted by troops deployed under Operation Hadin Kai across affected areas of Borno and Yobe states. The arrest followed weeks of surveillance after security operatives received credible intelligence linking the woman to the logistics network of terrorist elements.
According to the military, the suspect allegedly procured and distributed hard drugs and stimulants used by terrorists to enhance endurance and aggression during attacks on civilian communities and security formations. Items recovered from her at the point of arrest included quantities of suspected narcotics, mobile phones, and other materials believed to aid terrorist activities.

A senior military officer said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect maintained contact with known terrorist couriers and was actively involved in sustaining their operations through drug supply.
“She is currently in custody and undergoing detailed interrogation to uncover her network, sponsors, and links with terrorist commanders,” the officer said, adding that further arrests were expected.
The military reiterated its commitment to dismantling all support structures aiding insurgency in the North-East, particularly in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, which have suffered the brunt of terrorist violence over the years.
