Yobe teen bride fatally stabs husband in genitals, flees home

 

The Yobe State Police Command is intensifying efforts to locate an 18-year-old woman, Khadija Jamilu, who allegedly fatally stabbed her 25-year-old husband during a domestic dispute in Potiskum.

According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of February 6, 2026, inside the couple’s home. The suspect reportedly attacked her husband with a knife, inflicting serious injuries to his genital area, before fleeing the scene.

The victim was initially rushed to the State Specialist Hospital in Potiskum for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare in Bauchi State, for specialized care.

The Commissioner of Police in Yobe State condemned the act, describing it as a shocking case of domestic violence. He urged couples to seek peaceful resolutions to marital conflicts, stressing that marriage should be grounded in mutual respect, understanding, patience, and tolerance.

Police have appealed to members of the public to assist in locating the suspect by reporting any information to the nearest police station. Investigations into the circumstances leading to the attack are ongoing.
